Data Notice
Last updated: May 30, 2026
1. Data Source Transparency & Ephemeral Processing
All store listings, marketing leads, and merchant contact information provided through StoreSift are sourced exclusively from publicly accessible web pages. Our system automatically scans and indexes public-facing Shopify storefronts to compile standard business details, such as store names, descriptions, and listed contact email addresses.
To ensure maximum data freshness and protect general privacy, StoreSift operates a strict 24-hour data retention policy. All discovered merchant leads and emails are processed transiently and are completely purged from our active servers twenty-four (24) hours after generation, leaving no backups or residual copies. StoreSift does not build, maintain, or sell long-term historical data archives or permanent backups.
StoreSift does not obtain data from private databases or via unauthorized access. We only aggregate information that is already openly accessible to the public for general business outreach and customer service purposes.
2. Permitted Use of Data (B2B Outreach)
StoreSift provides this live Intel data strictly for legitimate business-to-business (B2B) marketing and outreach purposes. Users are expected to use this information solely in compliance with laws relevant to their jurisdiction. Permitted uses include:
- Sending relevant B2B proposals and service offerings to store owners.
- Conducting live market research and e-commerce competitive analysis.
- Identifying potential leads for agency services, logistics, or SaaS solutions.
3. Prohibited Conduct
The following activities are strictly prohibited when using data obtained through StoreSift:
- Sending unsolicited commercial communications (spam) via automated bulk email blasts in violation of international anti-spam laws.
- Using the data for any fraudulent purposes, phishing, harassment, or deceptive practices.
- Using automated scrapers, bots, or extraction scripts to mass-harvest datasets from our platform beyond our provided standard export features.
- Selling, reselling, or redistributing our raw data feeds or derivative datasets to third parties.
4. User Obligations Under Global Law
It is the sole responsibility of each user to comply with the legal requirements applicable to their outreach. Depending on your location and your recipients, you must adhere to:
- GDPR / UK GDPR:If contacting individuals in the EU/UK, you must rely on a valid lawful basis (such as “Legitimate Interest” for B2B outreach) and respect data subject rights.
- CAN-SPAM Act (US): Commercial emails to US recipients must include accurate header info, a valid physical postal address, and a clear, functional opt-out/unsubscribe mechanism.
- CASL (Canada): Electronic messages sent to Canadian recipients generally require prior express or implied consent.
5. Real-Time SMTP Verification Notice
StoreSift utilizes proprietary real-time SMTP ping methodologies to filter out non-existent, inactive, or invalid mailboxes before presenting data to users. While this significantly reduces email bounce rates for B2B marketers, it does not guarantee that the recipients will respond, or that your specific cold outreach will bypass target spam filters. Deliverability depends heavily on your own sender reputation and email copy content.
6. Independent Platform
StoreSift is an independent platform and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify Inc. We respect all intellectual property rights. StoreSift only indexes publicly available data from open storefronts and does not engage in any form of copyright or trademark infringement.
7. Enforcement & Abuse Reporting
StoreSift reserves the right to investigate and immediately terminate accounts that violate these compliance guidelines, engage in bulk-scraping, or trigger credit card chargeback abuse, without prior notice or refund.
If you believe that data from our platform is being misused, or if you are a shop owner wishing to request data removal, please contact us at hello@storesift.com.
